St. Matthew’s offers religious faith formation for children in grades K-10. Our
Pastor Fr. Brian Quinn, the Faith Formation staff, and many volunteers work together to assist parents in bringing up their children in the Catholic faith. We honor and recognize that parents are the first teachers of the faith and encourage their active participation in preparing their children for a lifetime of spiritual development and growth.
Our Mission
In partnership with parents, the purpose of the Faith Formation Program at St. Matthew’s is to build a foundation of faith from which our children will: · Continue to grow in their knowledge of God and His church · Live out their faith by being disciples of Christ · Be an integral part of our St. Matthew’s family Structured classes are offered on Sunday mornings for grades K-8 at either 8:30 am - 10:30 am or 10:00 am -12:00 pm both sessions include mass. Confirmation candidates in grades 9 and 10 are offered structured classes from 9:30 am -12:00 pm on Sunday mornings which includes the 11:00 mass. Students are taken directly to mass and sit with their catechists. Parent(s) and family are invited and encouraged to join them. In addition, there are special retreat experiences for Sacramental preparation (years 2 and 10) as well as for grades 7 & 8 to supplement and enrich the curriculum.
