Report from St. Matthew the Apostle Parish to the Diocese of Paterson in Preparation for the Synod of Bishops 2023:

Every few years since the Second Vatican Council, the College of Bishops in communion with the Pope, has gathered in a Synod to consider matters of importance in the life of the universal Church. The 2023 Synod will differ significantly from previous ones. How? Pope Francis has asked bishops throughout the world to consult with their parishes and communities. The Pope has described the new model of Church as a synodal Church, a Church that listens and hears.
